Inter Club Competitions

5 Way Slide Battle at Neath
In October each year, we meet at Neath Photographic Society’s club house to pitch our club (photographically) against 4 other local clubs; Neath, Swansea & Mumbles, Pyle & Porthcawl, Velindre and Bridgend are the five clubs involved. Each club makes a submission of 7 slides (not more than two slide per photographer), and the club with the highest aggregate score wins the contest.

5 Way Print Battle at Bridgend
Hosted by Bridgend Camera Club each November, this popular print battle is fought out between Cardiff, Newport, Neath, Swansea & Mumbles and Bridgend Camera Clubs. The entry consists of 6 colour or monochrome prints.

Gwynfa Contemporary
Gwynfa Camera Club has for the last few years hosted a unique competition where the participating clubs are asked to contribute 3 “contemporary” pictures; one monochrome print, one colour print and one transparency. The term “contemporary” can mean different things to different people, but in this competition the photographs are meant be in the modern style, to represent an aspect of modern life or other up-to-date issues etc. This competition, which is held in the Pontypridd Historical and Cultural Centre each October, is open to any federation club in the area.

Memorial Trophy Print Competition
This competition for prints is also held annually, usually in Talbot Green Community Centre in January. The entry consists of 4 colour and/or monochrome prints by four different members of a club.

Ace of Clubs Competition
The Ace of Clubs is held on the last Sunday in February, usually at Talbot Green Community Centre.
